Your Hydrawise controller requires a medium-high signal strength for a consistent Wi-Fi connection. We recommend a few apps to help you choose the best location for the controller on your site. Hydrawise suggests using one of the two different types of apps (Airport Utility & Wi-Fi Analyzer) depending on your device model:
After downloading the App, navigate to Settings, locate the Airport Utility, and open it. Toggle the Allow Wi-Fi Scanner to ON.
Exit Settings and open the Airport Utility app.
- Move to the proposed Site where the Hydrawise controller will be installed.
A Wi-fi Scan action will be in the top right corner. Click Wi-Fi Scan, then Scan.
Measure the RSSI for your Wi-Fi network name on channels 1-11.
Cross reference with the Wi-Fi Specification chart and view results. Learn More
Open the Wi-Fi Analyzer app.
Move to the proposed Site where the Hydrawise controller will be installed.
Select Access Points at the bottom of the screen.
