At Hunter, our philosophy for building a successful leadership team is simple. We identify, reward, and promote smart, talented people who embody our core principles every day they walk into the office. This kind of steadfast dedication is how Kenneth McEneany, our Vice President of Manufacturing, rose to his position as one of our most trusted executive leaders.
Ken has been at Hunter for over 15 years. He started in November of 1996 as the Quality Assurance Manager. Since Hunter has so much stock invested in the quality of our products, it was a high demand, high pressure position that required a lot of attention to detail with a very low margin for error.
After successfully leading the quality control department, he oversaw Hunter’s first acquisition and product line sale. Throughout the late nineties, he undertook several other roles, and managed several large-scale company initiatives.
Throughout his time at Hunter, Ken has faced and overcome a number of challenges. However, his most challenging moment came in October of 2003 when a fire affected Hunter’s main manufacturing building. Ken was charged with managing the fire recovery efforts of the manufacturing operations. His leadership resulted in no missed shipments and a fully recovered finished goods inventory within five months.
His current duties include the management of corporate purchasing and planning, production assembly, contract manufactured products, FX Luminaire operations, corporate quality assurance and product reliability. In all of these endeavors he states his core mission as “Providing leadership in identifying what must change in order to achieve corporate objectives that live up to Hunter’s cultural beliefs and core values.”
This mindset is exactly what Hunter looks for in leaders, and is precisely why Ken has ascended so rapidly up our executive ladder. When he’s not working, Ken enjoys spending time with his wife of 21 years and supporting their two teenage sons and their many sports interests, including lacrosse, ice and roller hockey, and football.
