Hunter has been a longtime supporter of PLANET events such as PLANET Career Days where collegiate irrigation students learn about advanced irrigation topics and compete in troubleshooting and installation contests.  PLANET also sponsors the nation’s largest landscaping volunteer day to improve the appearance of our nation’s most hallowed resting place - Arlington National Cemetery. 

Each year, several hundred volunteers (limited to 500) from across the country descend on Arlington National Cemetery to spend the day mulching, cabling and installing lightening protection for trees, pruning, planting, liming, aerating, and installing irrigation to specific areas across the cemetery’s more than 600 acres.

This year marks the 17th anniversary of PLANET's Renewal & Remembrance event with more than $2 million contributed to the care of this historic landmark to date. It is the largest green industry day of service in the country - valued at more than $250,000.

These events were a part of the initiatives guided by the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET), an international association serving lawn care professionals, landscape management, design/build/installation professionals, irrigation & water management and interior plantscapers. PLANET provides its members with a good business foundation to help them evaluate, plan, and better manage their companies. Member firms have direct access to marketing tools, industry-specific business publications, updates on legislative issues, and networking opportunities that can assist them in becoming more profitable.
