STEP ONE | STEP TWO |

Before digging your hole make sure you’ve chosen a location that is not in the direct path of a rotor, this is in case the door is left open water doesn’t infiltrate the internal parts of the controller. Root intrusion can also pose issues so make sure the pedestal is not going to reside next to a growing tree canopy. |
Once you locate a good location, dig a hole in the pictured shape to account for your conduit sweeps and concrete slab. |
STEP THREE | STEP FOUR |
It’s always a good idea to set your preassembled sweeps into the hole to make sure they will all fit and are long enough to clear the new concrete slabs perimeter. |
If you have the mounting template handy, slide it over the sweeps to get a spacing visual. |
STEP FIVE | STEP SIX |
Next you’ll want to use 1 X 4’s to build a 2 ft by 2 ft form for the concrete slab. |
When installing the stakes that will hold the form into place, use a level to insure the slab is going to sit 2” above grade. |
STEP SEVEN | STEP EIGHT |
Backfill the hole being careful not to get too much dirt in the sweeps. |
After your concrete is mixed and the form is filled with concrete, use a trough to smooth out the concrete evenly. Sloping the concrete slab slightly will assist in keeping water from pooling around the bottom of the pedestal. |
STEP NINE | STEP TEN |
The finished product should have the sweeps sitting slightly above the concretes grade. |
Before the concrete cures completely, install the pedestal-mounting template by pressing the 4 L-bolts down into the concrete until 2” of each bolt is still visible. Slightly moving the template back and forth will help with air bubbles and insure the template sits flat. |
STEP ELEVEN | STEP TWELVE |
After the concrete has cured the pedestal will drop over the 4 bolts installed in the previous step. Tighten mounting bolts until the pedestal sits flat on the concrete. |
The pedestal is now ready to have the ACC installed on top. Utilize the locking nuts from the ACC’s mounting package to secure the controller on the pedestal. |
