To our valued customers,

At Hunter, we continue to work through the challenges of the COVID-19 global pandemic. I wanted to personally share some important updates on how we have refined our customer support while taking vital steps to protect the employees who manufacture our high-quality products.

Our primary focus continues to be ensuring the safety of our teams while doing our part to slow the spread of the virus. To help us achieve these goals, we have successfully relocated all San Marcos customer and technical service, engineering, marketing, sales leadership, and administrative functions to isolated environments off campus. Additionally, we have instituted a range of on-site measures to protect our manufacturing and logistics teams, including:

  • Adopting strict rules for social distancing in all areas
  • Providing additional personal protective equipment including gloves and masks where required
  • Hiring on-site nurses to monitor employee health and conduct temperature screenings
  • Cleaning and sanitizing common areas and frequently touched surfaces

Following closely behind our commitment to health and safety is our deep desire to support you the best we can while limiting personal contact. Apart from continuing to deliver products, I’ve challenged our teams to step up training and education using virtual meeting tools. I’m proud of how quickly they have adapted. Our data shows that our industry-leading tools are filling your critical training and support needs — through March, usage of our free, online training site is up 51%, Hunter My List usage is up 500%, FX Luminaire My List is up 160%, and video views are up 81%.

The COVID-19 environment has also introduced new obstacles. We have experienced supply chain delays and interruptions from our partners around the world. At all points of manufacturing and distribution, we have continued production to support all irrigation product demand. For lighting products, we are working with local and state authorities to ensure that a clear declaration of essential need for manufacturing is in place. Although we proactively halted production, we have commonly stocked, quick-ship fixtures and lighting controller products available to fulfill your needs. While we resolve this situation, our teams are reworking inventory to match ordered items, changing lamps in lighting fixtures, and making product substitution suggestions for similar items. Your local sales managers are a great resource to help with product availability and substitution recommendations.

Throughout this crisis, I have been reminded of our industry’s amazing resilience and collective commitment to safely supporting essential needs. I have seen firsthand how our business transcends transactions and extends into friends and family looking after one another. I applaud and thank you for your role in making this industry something very special.

I am confident that we will all quickly bounce back from this crisis and emerge stronger than ever. Rest assured that Hunter Industries will be with you every step of the way to provide world-class products and training as you get back to normal. Lastly, I would like to share some images of our incredible team supporting you while doing their part to halt the spread of the virus.

Wishing you continued health and success during this crisis and beyond,

Gene Smith
