Hydrawise App - Requesting Ownership

If you receive the message "Serial Number is in Use," you will need to request a transfer of ownership from the original account owner.

  • The ownership transfer may take up to 5 business days to complete. 
  • The original owner can accept or decline this transfer.
  • If the original owner takes no action, the Serial Number will be released automatically after 5 business days, and the user will be prompted the set up Wizard.
  • If the transfer is accepted within the 5-day period, the controller and programming will be transferred to the new owner's Hydrawise account.

IMPORTANT: If using the X2 with WAND controller model, please submit a web form to assist in the transfer.

Please follow the steps below to request the official transfer of the serial number for controller models HC, Pro-HC, HPC, or HCC.

  1. In the Hydrawise app, when setting up a new controller, enter the Serial Number. If you get a message that the Serial number is in use, tap the Proceed button to request the transfer of ownership.
  2. From the controller screen (HC, PRO-HC, HPC, or HCC), tap on Zones.
  3. Note the names of Zone 1 and Zone 2. Enter their exact Names into the App (e.g., Front Lawn, Back Lawn, etc.) when prompted.
  4. Tap Continue. If entered correctly, an ownership transfer email will be sent to the controller's current owner. The owner can accept or deny the ownership change.
  5. From the app's home screen, you can view the status of your requested transfer under Your Notifications.
