In this video, you will learn how X2 works as a standalone controller without Wi-Fi. You will also learn how the WAND Wi-Fi module gives X2 new capabilities via Hydrawise irrigation management software.

The standalone X2 is a simple dial-based controller. It can become a smart irrigation controller with the addition of a WAND Wi-Fi module.

The WAND module allows your X2 controller to connect to the internet via your Wi-Fi router. Once connected, you can access and manage the controller with your smartphone, tablet, or computer.

As a standalone controller, the X2 controller is an ideal solution that provides automatic irrigation for sites requiring 14 stations or fewer. All programming and schedule adjustments are made using the dial and programming buttons at the controller facepack.

Add a rain sensor for immediate shutdown during rain events. Use a ROAM or ROAM XL remote to enable remote maintenance.

When a WAND Wi-Fi module is installed with X2, it disables the controller’s dial and button functions, the existing programming schedule, and any settings.

All programming is now managed via Hydrawise cloud-based software. You must reconfigure the irrigation schedule and adjust settings from your smartphone, tablet, or desktop browser.

Manual operation functions such as Start/Stop Station or Program and Test All Stations can still be activated from the controller’s programming buttons.

An on-site rain sensor is still recommended for immediate system shutdown during a rain event even with internet data. The controller is also compatible with ROAM and ROAM XL remotes for manual operations from up to 1,000’ (300 m) or 2 miles (3 km) away, respectively.

To ensure the X2 controller operates with Hydrawise, you must have the dial in the Run position. The controller will not operate remotely if the dial is in any other position.

If the controller dial is set to OFF, Hydrawise irrigation schedules and any running manual operations will shut down. Use the OFF position to prematurely end an irrigation cycle, such as during the winter season. To re-enable Hydrawise settings ,turn the dial back to the RUN position.

If the WAND module is removed, the controller will revert to the original programs and settings configured via the dial and buttons.
