Residential Rotors - Filter Information

The included filter at our residential rotor base will protect the internal gear drive from larger particles for longevity. In some cases, the filter can be plugged, slowing down or even stopping the rotation. The filters can be removed for cleaning and/or replacement. Please view the video for cleaning and chart below for more details on each of the filter sizes.

In the following table, we have given the actual screen opening size and the mesh number, which is close to our actual application. Some of our screens are actually rectangular in shape; for these, we have calculated the square area and then translated this back to give an equivalent square opening size.

ROTOR OPENING SIZE U.S. SCREEN MESH EQUIVALENT MICRON SCREEN PN
PGJ .025” (.635 mm) Square 30 590 272000-SP
PGP-ADJ .050” (1.27 mm) Square 14 1410 102600-SP
PGP Ultra .050” (1.27 mm) Square 14 1410 102600-SP
I-20 .050” (1.27 mm) Square 14 1410 102600-SP

What does mesh size mean?

Mesh size how many openings there are in one inch of screen.  An 80-mesh screen means there are 80 openings across one linear inch of screen. A 140-mesh screen has 140 openings, and so on.  Therefore, as the mesh number increases, the size of the openings decreases.
