Hydrawise App - Add Customer

Adding a New Customer lets you manage your customer's software account through the Customer Management Portal. This helps you monitor alert messages, track incorrect water usage (if a flow meter is installed), and more. You can add customers with or without Hydrawise access.

  • Customer With Hydrawise Access: Invite your customer to use the Hydrawise App by entering their email. They can manage their controller and share control with you, or you can connect with existing users to request access.
  • Customer Without Hydrawise Access: Add a customer without giving them access to the software. You can grant permission later if needed.

Customer's EmailThe customer will use the email address to log in to their account.
Customer's NameEnter the customers name.
Type of User
  • If you want your customer to have full control over their system, select “Can modify configuration and run zones.”
  • If you don’t want your customer to change their configuration, select “Can view configuration, manually run zones.”
Send Notifications ToChoose where to send emails about offline controllers or plan renewals using your email address or your customer’s email address.
Send Registration Email To CustomerTo prevent the account activation email from being sent to the customer, toggle this off.
Add New Customer

  1. Tap the Customer Management icon on the upper right-hand side.
  2. Tap Add New Customer.
  3. Choose if the customer should or should not have Hydrawise Software access.
  4. Enter the customer's Email Address or search for an existing customer account using a serial number. If you don't have this information, tap Add Customer Using Serial Number. You can add their email later when the information is readily available.
  5. Tap Continue.
  6. If the customer already set up an account, you will be prompted to click Request Access. This will send the customer an email asking for access to manage their controller.
  7. If your customer doesn't have an account, please enter the Email Address requested by the customer.
  8. Select the changes your customers can make in the program and set up the Notification recipient.
  9. Configure the controller by choosing one of three options:
    • Use Wizard to Set Up the Controller
    • Copy Program from Another Controller
    • Move A Controller From My Account

The controller will now be linked to your contractor account. Your new customer will then be visible in your list of customers in your My Customer(s) list. The homeowner will automatically receive an email notification from Hydrawise to set up a password.
